On August 31 2019 at Spa-Francorchamps, Juan Manuel Correa and 22-year-old Frenchman Anthoine Hubert were involved in an unavoidable accident on the second lap of the Formula 2 feature race. Hubert lost his life in the accident, while Correa suffered life changing injuries.
