Takeo Fujisawa was still not satisfied with Honda’s dramatic sales growth in Japan. His dream was exporting motorbikes to the world’s economic powerhouse, the United States. In 1959, Fujisawa dispatched Kihachiro Kawashima to the U.S. to establish the local affiliate American Honda. However the U.S. market was tougher for Honda than they expected.
